Minneapolis Fighting Seminar
Grandmaster SeminarFighting and grading seminar for EBMAS members This intensive seminar brings together EBMAS practitioners for hands-on training in combat applications and structured evaluation of technical progress. What to expect The seminar combines two core elements. First, fighting practice: live drills and controlled sparring under instructor supervision, where you test techniques against resisting partners in realistic conditions. Second, grading assessment: formal evaluation of your Wing Tzun and Escrima skills across forms, Chi Sao (sticky-hands drills), footwork, timing, and combat understanding. Who should attend All EBMAS members at any level-from beginners working toward their first grading to experienced practitioners preparing for advanced ranks. The seminar is scaled so that beginners and advanced students train together in ways that benefit both groups. Technical focus Expect detailed work on Wing Tzun fundamentals (stance, arm structures, centerline control) and Latosa Escrima blade and empty-hand principles. Live fighting drills test your timing and distance management. Grading components assess form execution, reaction speed in Chi Sao, and problem-solving under pressure. Instructor-led and inclusive EBMAS Sifu and Guro lead all sessions, offering real-time feedback on your technique and progress. The atmosphere is supportive: grading is about honest evaluation and learning, not intimidation. You receive clear feedback on strengths and areas to develop. Practical details Bring appropriate martial arts clothing, hand protection, and water. Grading fees apply; exact rates and schedule are confirmed closer to the date. This is a members-only event designed to build skill and community within EBMAS.
