Common Wing Tzun and Escrima terms briefly explained.
- Sifu
- Master / teacher. The honorific title for an instructor who has reached at least 3rd technician grade.
- Si-Hing
- Older training brother - a student who started earlier than you.
- Si-Dai
- Younger training brother - a student who started later than you.
- Chi Sao
- Sticking hands. The central sensitivity and reflex training of Wing Tzun.
- Lat Sao
- Free hands / free fighting. Drill format that combines combat distances and techniques.
- Biu Tze
- The third Wing Tzun form, introduced from 1st TG - also called „emergency techniques".
- Siu Nim Tao
- The first form of Wing Tzun („little idea") - the foundation of structure and energy work.
- Chum Kiu
- The second Wing Tzun form („seeking the bridge") - footwork and contact handling.
- Muk Yan Jong
- Wooden Dummy. Form on the wooden training partner from 5th practitioner grade.
- Escrima
- Filipino martial art with sticks, knives and empty hands. The EBMAS variant follows the lineage of Grandmaster René Latosa.
- Sinawali
- Double-stick basic drill in Escrima. Training of rhythm, coordination and weapon awareness.
